Making Time

Bill Shade

Having dinner last night with my wife and enjoying the sunset.  As we talked, she asked if I would care to join her next weekend on a short overnight trip that she had planned. My response was “ I am not sure I can make time.”

Wait a minute!  How quickly we forget…excuse me how quickly I forget! I forget that I have made a commitment to pay attention to my new priorities. I forget what is important to me.  Sounds strange but it is true! I forget what I have decided is important and revert back to what I was taught was important!! I sometimes use society’s standards to make my decisions and not the standards that I have developed over the years that work for me.

The reason for my initial response at dinner last night was I thought I could not afford to miss an evening of work. Question is-can I afford not to miss one night of work?! Miss a night and not make money or miss a night and spend quality time with a loved one. When I look at it that way it does not seem that difficult of a choice.

I once believed that the places I worked could not survive without my divine guidance.  It is amazing that most of them are still in business long after I have left!! I used to believe that the amount of stuff I needed was just a little more! I used to believe that I could do it tomorrow if I did not get it done today!

That is not what I believe today!! Now that I have received a major wake up call, my priorities are different. I simply need to pay attention to those priorities and not let my old way of thinking rob me of what I hold most dear!! I need to tell my wife I will find time!!!!

Appetizer

Being honest is really a question of courage- courage enough to face what we fear.…..fear is a BELIEF in our inadequacy to deal with something.

Face the Fear!

Suzie Dawson

Last week I went to an Avatar (self-evolvement course) in Orlando.  To say that I have returned with an incredible sense of peace and happiness would be a huge understatement.  The course was just what I needed.

The night before I left for the course (by plane), an announcement was made that there would be more terrorist attacks within the next few days.  I was surprised by my reaction.  After feeling really good about taking this trip, I suddenly went into a state of fear.  Actually, it knocked me over.  I knew, however, that I could not let fear stop me from this beautiful experience.

So I had two choices.  One was to let the fear (and the terrorists) win.  The other was to feel the fear and move through it. I opted for the latter.  I was not about to let the fear stop me from taking the trip, nor was about about to give away my power by being immobilized with fear.  After all, I get to decide which way to react.

When you are moving through life and fear arises, what choice will you make? To feel it and move through it or let it stop you from living your life?  It all comes down to choices again.

My challenge to you this week is to notice how you handle fear.  Does it stop you from saying what you really want to say or doing what you really want to do?  If the answer is yes, it may be time to adopt another way of dealing with your fear.  You deserve to be free to say and do exactly what you desire!

Dessert

The dessert pick for the week is “Living Deliberately” by Harry Palmer.  He is the founder of Avatar, a powerful self-evolvement course.  This book is for anyone who is tired of feeling like a victim and is ready to learn how to deliberately create a better life. In it, he explores ideas about consciousness that will help take your life to a new level.  It will leave you with a feeling of enlightenment and show that what you desire is possible!
