"Whine" Selection
How to
Say Goodbye?
Bill Shade
Ten years ago, I stood on a dock overlooking a river
trying to muster the courage to make my career change official. During the
preceding weeks I had become very disenchanted with what I was doing for a
living. I had reached levels of misery that were unbearable, so I made a
decision to do something else. I really did not care what it was, I just
wanted some relief from the pain and the grind of my day to day living.
Enter my friend Scott! Scott owned the best and most
upscale restaurant in the town in which I resided. One day, in total
frustration, I went to Scott and told him I wanted to learn how to be a
waiter. He asked if I was crazy and I replied, “without a doubt!!” He asked
if I would start as a busboy and I replied, “Yes…I told you I was crazy!!”
This was my start in the restaurant business and the
beginning of the evolution of my present self. Scott ranted and raved and I
learned. Scott would tell me to get my act together and I would try! Scott
was a perfectionist. Today I understand how important that is in this
business!! Scott demanded the most from his employees and we always gave it
to him. Scott taught me more than I ever thought possible!
One day, someone made Scott an offer that he could not
refuse and he sold the restaurant. The last night we were open we turned the
entire place three times and never missed a beat. That night was filled with
fine china, great wine and fabulous food! The wait staff, of which I was now
one, glided through the dining room in their ankle length aprons. And then
there was the insanity of the kitchen! After that evening, I knew I was
hooked into this night life!!
We on the staff, after breaking the pick up bell with
great ceremony, went our separate ways. Staying in the business that Scott
taught me, I got to travel and see most of North America and the Caribbean
because of his valuable tutoring. Occasionally I would get a call from
someone and they would bring me up to date on what my friend and mentor was
doing. I always meant to go out and see Scott, just never got around to
doing so.
A few weeks ago he called and informed me that he had
finally found the investor he was looking for and was putting the finishing
touches on his dream restaurant! Scott told me that there was a place for me
if I wished. I told him I would let him know. I never did! Scott died on the
way home from the restaurant. His car skidded out of control and landed on
top of him! He and I never did believe in seatbelts.
During our last phone conversation we discussed the
fact that it was not wise to live so far from the restaurant and to travel
country roads late at night. Scott said he was going to get a place closer
to work.He never did.
There was a memorial service for him recently at
sunset on the beach. Kind words were spoken and many tears were shed. I was
ok until the bagpiper, standing on the dune overlooking the ocean, began to
play Amazing Grace---and then the impact of my loss hit me like a ton of
bricks! I understand, at some level, this is all part of the journey. I just
do not know how to say goodbye!!!

Every time we think of anything, we’re flowing some
kind of positive or negative energy (feeling) toward whatever it is we’re
thinking about…and as we think, we feel; as we feel, we vibrate; as we
vibrate, we attract. Then we get to live the results.

I have to laugh at my title. You see, my husband has
been kidding with me about this manifesting stuff I have been writing
about. He keeps commenting that I should have a “manifestival” to impart
all the information I have gathered on manifesting. That will come later.
For now, I will share what has been working incredibly well in my life.
A few weeks ago I was having a really bad week. I was
very emotionally distraught. I knew that it was all a part of the growth
process, but that did not make me feel any better. So I decided to try to
manifest blessings, miracles, and abundance (to ease the pain!). What
happened next was unbelievable!
In that very same week, I was treated to a shopping
spree by my wonderful mom, my husband brought me home the cutest stuffed
animal, my sister sent me the most beautiful and uplifting angel card, and a
great friend sent me a holiday gift basket. That was just the beginning. I
continue to be showered with blessings of all kinds.
So how did this all happen? It did not happen over
night. I have been working on my manifesting skills for quite some time
now. I would see signs that it was working, but there was still something
missing. Recently I have discovered the key to this creating process…the
icing on the cake, so to speak.
It is raising your vibration (energy level) while
giving thanks for what you want to create. I am telling you, it works
miracles. Here are 3 simple ways to raise your vibration.
1. Appreciate
Find something to focus your attention on that will
fill you with appreciation. A particular scene in nature, a baby, a beloved
animal, anything that makes you feel really good. If none of these work,
try dreaming of the most beautiful spot on earth that you know of and
pretend you are there (this is always a good one!). Let yourself feel
how incredible this experience feels.
2. Visualize
Picture a candle in the center of your being. (I
picture this place inside my stomach, right below my diaphragm.) Visualize
the candle being lit and your whole body being filled with a brilliant white
light. Feel your body radiating with this positive energy. Feel
what it’s like to be glowing with this light and love. All negativity is
released, all that remains is love.
3. Pretend
Imagine that divine beings (Christ, Buddha, angels,
spirit guides- whoever you feel connected to) are surrounding you. Feel
the intense love emanating from these beings. Pretend they are actually in
front of you sending you great love and appreciation. Feel how
incredibly good this feels. (This one works best for me!) You can even feel
what it’s like to be a divine being filled with love and peace.
Some of these may seem a little “out there” for you.
The point is to do whatever works and that you feel comfortable with. Try
different ways of raising your vibration. There are many suggested in Lynn
Grabhorn’s book recommended below.
Once you have achieved this high energy level, give
thanks for whatever you are trying to create. If it is more money, you may
say “Thank you for the abundance that is flowing into my life.” If it is a
new career, you may say “Thank you for showing me what I was put here to
do.” (You get the picture.) You must act as if it is happening. By
affirming what you desire from this place of positive vibration (in other
words, feeling good), you can create whatever you want. As long as you
believe you can.
Start small and work your way up to things you greatly
desire. By doing this, you will gain the confidence needed to create what
you really want. Practice raising your vibration and you will be amazed at
the results. The more powerful your positive energy flow, the quicker the
results. If what you are trying to create does not appear immediately,
don’t lose faith. Keep affirming that it will happen, be patient, and let
it go! I encourage you all to go out and start your own “manifestival”
today!!

Dessert
The dessert pick for the week is “Excuse Me, Your Life
is Waiting” by Lynn Grabhorn.I have recommended this book before and will do
so again. It is an incredible book on how to manifest what you want in
life! Many lives have changed from reading and utilizing the techniques she
outlines. If you are serious about creating a better life, get this book.
Follow her advice and you will be amazed at the results!!

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to spread the word
and we will see you in two weeks.
