Your Story
by
Suzie Dawson
We all have it. The excuses we use for not having everything we
desire in life. That voice inside that says my life isn't great because
"I don't have more time, energy, money...better relationships...more
fulfillment, etc." Do any of these sound familiar? If you are unclear
what your story is, ask someone close to you. They will know. It is that
thing you whine or complain about. Your story.
What I notice about being in my story is that I need to either allow
my feelings to surface or change my thinking. How do you know which to
do? My rule of thumb is to always feel first. This way, you avoid
suppressed feelings and many problems on down the line. Next shift your
thinking.
How do you shift your thinking? There are many different books and
programs designed to help do this. Here are some tools I have found
particularly helpful.
1. Ego/Soul dialogue. Have a conversation with your inner being. What
would your soul say about what you are experiencing? Be willing to see
your situation from a higher perspective.
2. Shift your focus. Instead of focusing on the 1 thing that is
wrong, start thinking of everything you are grateful for. Complete the
following sentence: I am so lucky that...
3. Let go and PLAY. Go to a movie, out to eat, or to the park. Not
getting your need for fun met is a trigger for "the story." Allow
yourself to fully enjoy life!
4. Be WILLING to see things differently. Ask for a new perspective
that will allow you to see your situation in a more empowering way. Just
your willingness will shift your vibration to a higher level.
5. Be okay with what is!! Love yourself no matter what mood you are
in. You cannot shift your mood by resisting it!
Here is a thought to ponder this week...Who would you be without your
story? This is a very powerful question. You have to be able to see
beyond your story to change your life. This simple question is the place
to start! For more information about shifting out of your story, pick up
Loving What Is by Byron Katie. If you have a desire to break free of
everything that is holding you back, read this book. You can also check
out her website at www.thework.org. It's your life. It may be time to
create a new story!

If you want to change your business or your life, start by looking
inward.”

Affirmation
I easily focus
my attention on that which makes me happy!!
(*A note on affirmations....It is okay if you
don't really believe them. But be open to the possibility that from a
different viewpoint it could be true. Pretend or imagine that it is
true. The effect is just the same!)

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to spread the
word and we will see you in two weeks.
