New Travel
Destination
By Bill Shade
I have been traveling
to a strange place lately. This
land of great peace
and pleasure is very, very
challenging to get to
and almost impossible to stay
there once you
arrive! However the rewards are amazing
to say the least. For
the beauty and the reward s of
your travels are well
worth the effort in getting
there!! This land is
void of worry. There is little or
no concern for
personal well-being. The worry of lack
of money is really of
little or no concern. The people
are extremely
friendly and threaten no one. Birds have
great beauty in their
appearance and song! The weather
is most always
perfect and enjoyable. Relationships
are far less
threatened and are enjoyed with such
great intensity that
it almost makes your heart sing
out loud. The need
for more does not exist because I
have all that I need
and want. The peace reaches deep
into my soul and I
experience life as never before!!
The name of this
place is- The Here and Now! I wonder
why in the world it
is so hard for me to get and stay
here? This place has
the beauty and serenity that I am constantly searching for, yet
I seem to avoid it like the plague!! What is the deal? Why is a
place of such great beauty and so easy to get to so difficult
for me to stay in?? I fear it is training and habit! Just like
those old shoes that feel good when I put them on and are
killing my feet by the end of the night! Staying in the here and
now takes practice and is not familiar!! But it is such a joy
when I am able to stay there!! I am making a commitment to
myself to practice staying in this land of bliss. Anyone care to
join me?

Let it In!
By Suzie Dawson
The last few articles
I have written have been about
resistance and
letting go. Something recently
occurred to me
through the course of my journaling.
When we are in a
state of resistance, we cannot let in
the most important
element of life. Love. The two do
not go together. They
are polar opposites.
Think about it. When
you feel controlling or
resistant you are
shutting out the greatest part of
life. Love.
Completely shutting it out. We must let
go in order to let
love in. This is vital to our
sense of well-being.
Not to mention the fact that it
just feels good!
So how do you switch
from a place of resistance to a
place of love? Begin
with yourself. For as we all
know, you must love
yourself first, before you can
love others. Notice
what kind of things you say to
yourself as you go
about your day. Are they kind
words that nourish
you or words that are less than
encouraging. Every
time you begin to say something
negative to yourself,
try switching it to a positive,
more affirming
statement. Before you know it, you
will be extending
this same compassion to others.
Watch the difference
it makes in your world!
This week I challenge
you to notice how much love you
are letting into your
life. Remember that every time
you are feeling tense
you are not allowing yourself to
give or receive love.
You are cutting yourself off
from the most
beautiful and fulfilling part of life.
I would venture to
say that this is the single most
important step you
could take toward improving your
life. Too often we
take this thing called life for
granted. It is short.
We must allow ourselves to
live it to the
fullest. Open up to the love
surrounding you and
watch the miracles abound!

Dessert
The dessert pick for
the week is the book "A Return To
Love" by
Marianne Williamson. This is easily one of
the top 3 books I
have ever read. It is
life-altering, to say
the least. It shows us how love
can be used as the
answer to all of life’s problems.
This book is
beautiful and compelling (and a must
have!) for anyone who
is interested in a better way of
life.
