"Whine" Selection
I Desire This and It Is So!
By Bill Shade
Wonder what it would be like
to have faith that
everything was going to be ok
everyday? How would I
treat my customers if I knew
that I would always make
enough money to pay my bills?
Would I have such a hard
time getting along with
management if I knew that they
really did not control my
income? What would I do if
I knew that all my needs
would be met everyday if I
simply showed up and did the
best I could everyday?
What if I made a commitment
to practice psychological reciprocity in all my relationships, thinking
about others and not my own self-centered needs? If I knew at the end of
the week or month that I would always have enough money to meet my
needs, would that 5 or 10 % tip really matter? Would I really go
ballistic when the manager gave one of my shifts to the hot new honey he
just hired if I knew I would always have all I needed? Do I spend as
much time wondering if the sun is going to come up tomorrow as I spend
on will we have enough money to pay the bills this month? No! Why?
Faith--!! I have seen the sun come up everyday for over half a century
and I KNOW it will do the same tomorrow!! Interesting thing is that my
needs, not my wants, have also been met everyday for over half a century
and yet I spend a great deal of energy wondering if they will be met
tomorrow!! I always thought that faith was something that people
gathered in those strange buildings that they went to on Sunday morning.
Today I have discovered that this is not the case. Faith is a very
personal relationship with the universe around me! Belief is something I
choose to do, on a daily basis!! I can choose to believe that my needs
will be met or not! It is up to me. I have that power. I have had time
in my life when I had more than I needed; I have had time when I had
barely what I needed!! I prefer the more!! The point is I always get
exactly what I need!! I desire this, I believe this, I expect this and
there for it is So!!

signs everywhere that can guide you. Pay
attention to coincidences

present themselves. When
you’re receptive, they can

Main Dish
Ego vs. Soul Guided
By Suzie Dawson
Isn’t it funny how difficult
we can make life by not
following our inner guidance.
Recently I was put in a challenging position (which I created!). I had
scheduled a speech that I had lost interest in doing.
I made the decision to do the
speech from a viewpoint
that I needed to be doing
more (my ego). I did not particularly want to do the speech at that
time, but scheduled it anyway.
So when it came time to do
the speech, I had a tough
decision to make. Do I force
it, even though it did
not feel right or do I opt
out? Neither decision
appealed to me. Making it
more difficult, my ego got
in the way with the unwelcome
“you should do this”
comments.
Then I remembered something
that Oprah recently said.
“You have the right to change
your mind.” What a
powerful little statement. It
is easy to forget that
we always have a choice. Even
if we say yes to
something, we have the right
to change our mind. So I
decided to cancel the speech.
Granted it was going to
be to an extremely small
audience, nonetheless, I
still agonized (briefly!)
over this.
The lesson I have to share
with you is this. When you
are making plans for the
future, make sure you follow
your inner guidance. Do not
be pulled around by your
ego whispering in your ear,
“you need to do more, be
more, have more.” Trust and
follow your instincts.
We all have an inner guidance
system that works
amazingly well, if only we
will take the time to
connect with it. Next time
you are unclear as to
whether it is your ego or
soul guiding you, try this
simple exercise. Before you
commit to something, feel
what it feels like to make
the decision and follow
through with it. Then reverse
it, and feel what it
feels like to decline or make
a different decision.
If the decision is right for
you, it should feel good
and if it is wrong for you,
not so good. Our inner
guidance system talks to us
mainly through our
feelings. Try to keep your
thoughts out of it.
We all have the ability to
tap into this inner
guidance, although many of us
never slow down long
enough to use it. We zip
through life wasting so much
time and energy. All that is
really needed is to
switch to low gear and listen
for and feel what to do
next. It makes for a much
more peaceful existence!

Dessert
The dessert pick for the week is the book “Second
Sight” by Judith Orloff, M.D.
This is an incredible
book for anyone who has a
desire to tap into their
internal guidance system. Dr.
Orloff shows how to use meditation, prayer, and dream interpretation to
look within for the answers. Through her own spiritual journey, she
shows us how to tap into our own extraordinary abilities to help
ourselves and others.
