Asilomar
is known for its tidepools, here persistent fog or clouds, seaweed jungles and
granite substrate are the norm.
The granite seems to withstand time and
erosion much better than the soft bluffs of the Monterey Bay and the West Coast's north
shore.
The intertidal habitats provide home for
many different species of life.
